Serena Hall

A native of Dothan, Ala., Serena Hall is the organizer of Cultural Expressions. She moved from Atlanta to Darien in 2007.  A year later, she took her first art class at the McIntosh Art Association, at her husband’s suggestion. She has always loved bright colors in crafts, paintings, and fabrics.

Hall paints many subjects, but her most popular are ladies, especially her small decorated “Dresser Ladies.” Each fashionable woman has her own personality. Many of her compositions are mixed media as she loves texture and color.

Serena has participated in a number of art festivals, and recently placed second in the Darien Fall Festival for arts, crafts and paintings.  Her art is also exhibited at the Red Piano Too Art Gallery on St. Helena Island, S.C.  Her work will be shown at the Walter Greer Art Center of Coastal Carolina, Hilton Head Island, S.C., Feb. 1-March 3, 2013, for Black History Month.

She hopes to make Cultural Expressions an annual event.

“Everybody loves art in some form; they just need to take a break and see it on canvas,” she said.
